Men's Swimming Head Coach Announces New Assistant Coach

Head Coach Chuck Knoles announced Hillis as the new assistant coach on June 17, 1998. Hillis joins Pittsburgh after serving the past two seasons as a mens assistant coach at Princeton University. While there, Hillis assisted in all areas, aiding in coaching and recruiting. Prior to his position at Princeton, Hillis served as a graduate assistant coach at Southwest Missouri State from 1994-96 and served one year as a volunteer coach at his alma mater, Shippensburg University during the 1992-93 season. In addition, Hillis has served as a summer coach for the Wynnewood swim team for seven years.
This past season, Hillis assisted with various swimming camps, including the Stanford University and Southern Methodist University camps.
As a collegiate swimmer at Shippensburg, Hillis was a Division II All-American. He additionally earned All-America honors as a United States Masters Swimmer.
A 1993 graduate of Shippensburg University, Hillis earned a bachelor's degree in business marketing. He earned his master's degree in business administration from Southwest Missouri State in 1996.
