- Named the nation's most improved player by ESPN.com.
- Leads the country in tackles for losses with 2.71 per game (NCAA leaders through Nov. 1).
- Set a Big East record this season with 25 tackles for losses, breaking Chris Hovan's (Boston College) mark of 21 set in 1999.

- Tied the Big East single-game record with four sacks versus Bowling Green. The four sacks were the most by a Panther player in a single game in seven years.
- In a 12-0 win over Penn State, Knight had three sacks and four tackles for losses. He also had a key pass breakup on the Nittany Lions' final drive to preserve the shutout. For the game, Knight totaled eight tackles (six solo).
- Logged a career-high 12 tackles and his first career interception in Pittsburgh's near-upset at Virginia Tech. Knight's interception led to a 17-yard touchdown pass from John Turman to Antonio Bryant that gave the Panthers a 13-7 lead.
- Actually began his collegiate career as a 190-pound wide receiver in 1997.
- Quipped ESPN college football announcer Rich Waltz, "Bryan Knight is one of the best pass rushers in the country."
