Pittsburgh Competes at Miami (OH) in Quadrangular Meet

Oxford, Ohio - The Pittsburgh women's swimming and diving team traveled to Oxford, Ohio, on Nov. 3, to participate in a quadrangular meet, defeating host Miami (OH) 157-126 and losing to Notre Dame (196-98) and Kenyon (148-143).
Freshman Ryan Redman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.34. Senior Katie Hunter (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) had a couple of solid outings, placing second in the 50 free (24.40) and second in the 100 free (53.63). She additionally was the first leg of the 400 free relay, which placed second with a time of 3:36.27.
Sophomore Lacey Hvalka (Fairfax Station, Va./Hayfield) and Jen O'Brien (Verona, Pa./Penn Hills) also performed well. Hvalka finished second in the 400 IM (4:33.93), while O'Brien had two runner-up finishes in the one-meter (236.45) and three-meter (228.40) boards.
