Feb. 25-26 Panthers kick off 2000 season with three-game series sweep at Mount St. Mary's.
March 11 Pittsburgh claims Big Ten-Big East Challenge over Indiana, 4-3, in Homestead, Fla.
March 15 Head Coach Joe Jordano coaches the Panthers to his 50th win at Pittsburgh, 7-5 vs. Niagara.
March 18 Panthers complete a six-game winning streak with a victory at Villanova, 5-4.
March 30 Pittsburgh completes second six-game winning streak of the year with 8-3 victory over Buffalo.
April 15 Pittsburgh earns first and only shutout of the season, 18-0, vs. Connecticut. Jory Coughenour allows just five hits.
April 17 Joe Lydic named Big East Co-Player of the Week.
May 2 Jordano claims his 350th career victory as a head coach, 3-2, at Youngstown State.
May 4 Lydic breaks his own school record for single-season home runs with his 15th of the year vs. Youngstown State.
May 7 Pittsburgh comes back from a six-run deficit in the top of the ninth to defeat Notre Dame in record-breaking 22-18 victory.
May 8 Colamarino named Big East Co-Rookie of the Week.
May 13 Coughenour sets school record for career innings pitched in 8-6 victory over Boston College.
May 13 Lydic breaks his own school record for runs in a season with his 54th of the year.
May 13 Panthers earn 30th win of the season, their first 30-plus win since 1995 and just their fourth in school history.
May 14 Lydic hits game-winning single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th to send the Panthers past Boston College and into the Big East tournament for the first time since 1995. Charis Britt scores go-ahead run in 6-5 victory.
May 15 Jeremy Rossi earns Big East Co-Pitcher of the Week honors after leading the Panthers with a save and a win in the crucial Boston College series.
May 16 Lydic named to All-Big East Second Team and Scott Folmar earns All-Rookie honors at annual conference banquet.
May 17 Pittsburgh plays first Big East tournament game since 1995 and loses to first-seeded Rutgers, 11-3.
May 17 Lydic ties career home run record with his 19th of the year and 33rd in just two seasons.
May 18 Panthers play in 55th game of the season to tie the school's single season record from 1995.
May 18 Pittsburgh is elimated from Big East tournament with 15-7 loss to Notre Dame.
June 5 Lydic selected by the Houston Astros in 7th round (217th pick overall) of the Major League draft and is the highest drafted Panther since 1985 (Chris Jelic, 2nd Round, Royals).
June 5 Coughenour also selected by Houston in the 20th round of the Major League draft. Pittsburgh had two draftees in one year for the first time since 1994.
