Pittsburgh Women's Swimmer Ranked 23rd in the World

PITTSBURGH - Ryan Redman, a freshman on the Pittsburgh women's swimming and diving team, is beginning her collegiate career ranked 23rd in the world in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 32:42.
A native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of North Hills High School, Redman recently competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials, placing 22nd in the 100 breaststroke. Her time of 1:12.07 ranks her 107th in the world in that event.
Redman also specializes in the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. At the 2000 PIAA State Championships, she placed second in the 100 breaststroke and eighth in the 200 IM.
The Pittsburgh women's swimming and diving team begins competition on Oct. 27, when the Panthers travel to St. Bonaventure.
