Pittsburgh Baseball Signs Six Recruits

PITTSBURGH, PA-University of Pittsburgh head baseball coach Joe Jordano has signed six student-athletes to national letters-of-intent, announced today by the Panthers? baseball office.
?We are very pleased with the signings of these players,? said Jordano. ?We were acknowledged by Collegiate Baseball for our recruiting class a year ago and we feel this class potentially is our best yet.?

?These are the type of players we feel can take our program to another level,? added Jordano. ?We have made great strides over the past five years and we are anxious to continue a new five-year plan with these players.
?We are attracting great student-athletes which is very exciting. Many of these guys play mulitiple sports very well and are super kids. They are willing to work hard and are dedicated to a process that will make them the best they can be. Each of them has the ability to contribute to our program immediately.?
The Panthers will open their 2003 season on the road February 14-16 against Duke in a three-game series.
