Statement by Pittsburgh head football coach Walt Harris:
?I do not like to comment on speculation but given some of the events of the last few days I felt compelled to make a statement. Contrary to some highly irresponsible and outright false reports, I have been in Pittsburgh the last two days hosting recruits and preparing for our bowl game. I have not spoken to any other institution regarding job openings. I have no interest in leaving the University of Pittsburgh and am very proud of what we have accomplished here. People can list my name in connection with other jobs all they want ? that?s something beyond my control ? but my plan is to be here and continue our program?s upward climb.?
