Five Panthers Headed To NCAA Track and Field Championships

Bayne (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) was the top Panther finisher at the event as she placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.58, just shy of her season-best time of 57.57 at the Big East Championships. Last week, Bayne was named the Mondo District Track Athlete of the Year.
Carter (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the triple jump, finishing eighth with a score of 12.76 meters. Earlier this season, Carter won her first Big East Championship in the triple jump with a score of 13.07 meters and also captured the event at the ECAC Championships.
With a time of 17:06.70 in the 5,000 meters, McCandless (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy) qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second time this year. During this past cross country season, she made it to the national championships and finished 210th.
McGill (Franklin Park N.J./Franklin Township) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon. Earlier this year, McGill was named the Big East's Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Year after winning the heptathlon at the conference championships.
Lyles (Somerset, N.J./Franklin) qualifed in the 200 meters with a season-best time of 23.25 at the Big East Championships in May. Lyles was a member of two championship relay teams at the ECAC Outdoor Championships.
