Volleyball Downs Seton Hall, 3-0, at Fitzgerald Field House

PITTSBURGH - Three Pitt players recorded 15 or more kills as the Panthers' volleyball team downed visiting Seton Hall, 3-0, at the Fitzgerald Field House on Friday evening.
Senior Gini Ullery (Tracy, Calif./Tracy) led all players with 19 kills and hit .421 for the match, adding 11 digs for her fifth double-double in her last six matches. Sophomore Diana Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was solid with a double-double of her own - 17 kills and 10 digs - the fourth consecutive for the outside hitter. She also recorded four service aces to up her team-high total to 49 for the season.
Ashley White (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East/Indiana) hit .500 in the match with a career-best 15 kills to go along with two assists, two digs and three blocks. As a team, the Panthers hit .338 - their highest mark of the season.
Freshman setter Nicole Taurence (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) was near her own double-double with a match-high 52 assists to go along with nine digs and two blocks. Seton Hall was led by Jessica King, who hit .360 with 12 kills and three blocks.
The Panthers (14-9, 7-3 Big East) led from start to finish in both the first and third sets, winning 30-25 and 30-27, respectively. Seton Hall (12-13, 2-7) traded points and early leads with the Panthers but a 30-25 victory by Pitt ended any hopes of the Pirates tying the match up.
Pitt will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 5, with a 2 p.m. home match against DePaul. The following day, the Panthers' seniors will play for the final time at Fitzgerald Field House with a 2 p.m. showdown against No. 7 Notre Dame.
