PITTSBURGH-Junior Kathy Siuda (Waterloo, Ont./Bluvale Collegiate) returned to her native Poland this past weekend to compete in the Polish National Championships and claimed several medals after having a successful meet.
Siuda, who has dual citizenship for Canada and Poland and has been competing on the international level for years, is the Panthers' top distance and IM swimmer. Siuda's best event was the 400 IM, where she won two medals-gold for her age group and silver overall. With a short course time of 4:51.43, she was just shy of her career best.
Siuda also competed in the 200 IM (first in her age group and second overall), the 400 free (second in her age group and fifth overall) and the 800 free (second in her age group and fifth overall).
Siuda placed fourth in the 400 IM at the 2005 Big East Conference Championships and seventh in the 1650 free.
