PITTSBURGH - Senior libero Megan McGrane added one more honor to her credit on Wednesday, as she was selected as an AVCA All-Northeast Region honoree. For McGrane, it is her second such honor after being named All-Big East First Team and the conference's Libero of the Year last month.
McGrane (Muncie, Ind./Delta) finished her career as Pitt's all-time leader with 2,424 digs, the fourth-highest total in NCAA Division I history.
As a senior, McGrane recorded 621 digs in 110 games (5.65 avg.) and guided the Panthers to their fourth consecutive winning season. In McGrane's four seasons at Pitt, the Panthers won the Big East Championship in 2003, made two NCAA Tournament appearances (2003 and 2004), and compiled an 84-39 record (.683 winning percentage).
In addition, Panther sophomore Diana Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), last year's Northeast Region Freshman of the Year, earned Honorable Mention All-Northeast Region this season. Andreyko led the Panthers with 516 kills and 53 aces, and was among the team leaders in digs with 241 and added 50 blocks. Andreyko, like McGrane, was named to the All-Big East First Team for her efforts.
