2005 Men's Soccer Schedule
PITTSBURGH?University of Pittsburgh men?s soccer coach Joe Luxbacher announced the Panthers? 2005 schedule on Wednesday. Pitt will play five of its first six games away from home, including a trip to Philadelphia to play both Drexel and LaSalle in the Drexel Tournament. The Panthers? first home game is on Sunday, September 11th against Mount St. Mary?s. A crucial portion of Pitt?s season is a four game homestand from September 23rd through October 5th against all Big East opponents
Pitt will play a total of 17 regular season games this year, including 11 Big East Conference games. Following their four game home-stand, the Panthers will go on a three game road trip that takes them to Wisconsin, New York, and Connecticut in the span of eight days. Pitt closes out its regular season with a home game against Providence
The Panthers are coming off a 6-8-3 season in which they went 3-6-1 in the Big East. Pitt returns nine of eleven starters in 2005. The seasons begins with a home exhibition game against California University (Pa.) on August 20th, followed by two road exhibition games at Cleveland State (Aug. 23) and at St. Francis (Aug. 27). Pitt plays its home games at Founders Field in Indianola, Pa.
