INDIANOLA, Pa. - Pitt's offense couldn't take advantage of scoring opportunities as Big East newcomer South Florida defeated the Panthers in men's soccer, 1-0 Sunday at Founders Field.

Halftime adjustments proved to be the difference, as the visiting Bulls controlled and retained possession of the ball after halftime. South Florida freshman Jason Devenish controlled a cross from teammate Simon Schoendorf and deposited the ball into the corner of the net in the game's 50th minute. The score was all the Bulls needed as South Florida controlled the tempo the rest of the way.

Justin Lowery continued his impressive play for the Panthers with career-high 10 saves. Tom DeCato managed three shots on goal for Pitt. South Florida goalkeeper Dane Brenner finished with five saves.

The loss drops the Panther's record to 2-5-1 and 1-3-0 in the Big East, while the Bulls move to 5-3-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the Big East.

Next up, the Panthers host Seton Hall on Saturday at 1 p.m.
