PITT VOLLEYBALL TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON ON THE ROAD

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt volleyball team will wrap up its regular season slate on the road this weekend, taking on league opponents Notre Dame and DePaul. The Panthers (20-8, 8-4 Big East) will face the Fighting Irish (15-10, 9-3 Big East) on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. They'll then face the Blue Demons (5-23, 0-12 Big East) on Sunday, Nov 12 at 2 p.m. CT.
Pitt is coming off a 1-1 weekend against Big East opponents at home. The Panthers played an exciting five-game set against Cincinnati, winning 15-13 in game five. They then fell in a 1-3 set to Louisville. Junior Diana Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was named to the conference's honor roll after leading the team throughout the weekend. She currently averages 4.08 kills per game and has a .238 hitting percentage. Sophomore Stephanie Ross (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) is averaging 3.64 kills per game and is hitting .199. She leads the team with 34 service aces for a 0.35 average.
Defensively, Pitt continues to be a threat on both the conference and national level. The Panthers are seventh nationally and second in the Big East, averaging 3.41 blocks per game. Sophomore Jessica Moses (North Olmstead, Ohio/Lutheran West) is 19th with a 1.52 average. She is also third in the league. Freshman Kim Kern (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee) is averaging 1.42 blocks per game and has 139 total this season.
Senior Azadeh Boroumand (Red Deer, Alberta/Thurber) continues to be a leader in her senior campaign. She's averaging 11.91 assists per game and leads the team with a .355 hitting percentage. Freshman Michelle Rossi (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) is averaging 4.02 digs per game and also has 18 service aces this season.
The Irish are hitting .228 this season and holding their opponents to .193. Leading the team in kills is freshman outside hitter Christina Kaelin with a 3.61 average. Sophomore middle blocker Justine Stremick is averaging 1.42 blocks per game. The team's libero, senior Danielle Herndon, averages 5.02 digs per game, and junior outside hitter Adrianna Stasiuk has 27 service aces this season along with a 2.96 kills per game average.
The Blue Demons are hitting .129 this season compared to their opponents' .243. Senior outside hitter Morgan Ingersoll leads the team with 4.06 kills per game. Junior middle blocker Stacy Pando has a 0.69 average along with 32 service aces this year. The team's senior libero, Ellen Hayes, averages 3.76 digs per game.
