CINCINNATI, OH--The Pitt swimming and diving team toppled Big East opponent Cincinnati, 192.5-47.5, this afternoon. The Panthers remain undefeated on the season with a 3-0 overall record and 2-0 in the conference.

The Panthers got the day started as freshman Margo Ekstrom (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led all in 1M diving with a first place effort. Classmate Alyssa Ferraro (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) placed third with 175.95 points.

Later, Pitt swept the 3M boards as Ekstrom, freshman Hanna Bratton (Lincoln, R.I./Moses Brown School) and Ferraro all recorded top-three finishes.

The 400 medley relay team, who stopped the clock at 3:56.37, earned the first swimming event victory for the Panthers. Members of the team were senior Andrea Shoust (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont./White Pines C & VS), sophomore Ruth Seiffert (Boothwyn, Pa/Garnet Valley), junior Brittany Stevens (Peachtree City, Ga./Starr Mill's/Florida State) and senior Kristin Brown (East Berlin, Pa./Bermundian Springs).

All the members of the winning relay team went on to win individual races as well. First up was Seiffert in the 1000 free with a time of 10:32.32. Brown followed with a win in the 200 free at 1:49.94, setting a Keating Natorium pool record.

Later in the 50 free Shoust and junior Kelly O'Hara (Voorhees, N.J./Timber Creek) finished first and second with times of 24.34 and 24.53, respectively.

Senior Kathy Siuda (Waterloo, Ontario/Bluevale Collegiate Institute) and sophomore Agnes Mago (Kecskemet, Hungary/Bolyai Janos/Radford) led the pack in the 200 IM with first and second place finishes. Siuda won the event at 2:07.94, while Mago finished at 2:08.06.

Stevens and freshman Sophie Cross (Thornton, Pa./Glen Mills) then provided the one-two punch in the 200 butterfly with times of 2:12.62 and 2:13.56, respectively.

Brown returned in the 100 freestyle and turned in her third first-place performance of the day after touching the wall at 51.87. Sophomore Stacie Safritt (Cranberry Township, Pa,/Seneca Valley), swimming in her first meet of the season, finished second (52.37) in the same event.

Next, Shoust earned her third first-place effort in the 200 back (2:03.07), finishing nearly seven seconds faster than freshman Lisa McDonnell (Columbia, Pa./Hempfield), who placed second (2:10.12). Freshman Ryann Kishbaugh (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) rounded out the top-three in the same event.

Leading the pack in the 500 free, Mago touched the wall at 4:58.91, while Sieffert earned a top finish in the 200 breast (2:21.80).

The meet ended as McDonnell, junior Colleen Sullivan (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton), freshman Tiffany Malatesta (Vineland, N.J./Vineland), and O'Hara stopped the 400 free relay clock at 3:35.85.

Pitt travels to South Bend, Ind. on Saturday, Nov. 11, to face Big East rival Notre Dame.
