Volovetski Finishes First At Rutgers Diving Invitational

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Sophomore Alex Volovetski recorded two titles at the Galbraith Invitational, held at Rutgers University.

Volovetski (Brandon, Fla./Armwood) paced the invitational on both the 1M and 3M boards. In 1M competition he scored 342.10 points as the top diver in the finals. Next, Volovetski finished first with 364.25 points on the 3M board.

Volovetski was also first in the preliminary rounds with 324.00 points on the 1M and 349.45 points on the 3M board.

Senior Jeremy Stultz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) placed second on the 1M board with 328.95 points. In the prelims, Stultz recorded 295.45 points for second, while sophomore Eric Becker (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) placed 27^th with 168.95 points.

Next, Stultz placed third in the finals of the 3M board with 296.15 points, moving up from fifth (274.95) in the prelims. Becker placed 29^th with 146.25 points in the prelims of the 3M board.

Pitt hosts its annual three-day Christmas Meet on Friday, Dec. 15 at Trees Pool, prior to traveling to Florida for spring training.
