Women's Volleyball Travels To California

PITTSBURGH--Pitt's women's volleyball team closes out its 2007 regular season in the Long Beach Tournament this weekend. The Panthers face Long Beach State at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, and Cal Santa Barbara on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m.
Pitt (15-14) is coming off a split in their final home matches of the season. In the finale, senior Diana Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) eclipsed the career kills record with her game-winning kill in game two of the Rutgers win. Boasting 1,822 kills to date, she surpassed Ann Marie Lucanie's 1993 record of 1,815.
Long Beach State (21-6) is coming off a shutout, 3-0, win over Cal State Fullerton. The 49ers are led by Alexis Crimes with a 4.6 kill per game average and lead the Panthers, 4-0, in the series.
Coming off a shutout win of its own, Cal Santa Barbara (11-18) is led by Dara Vargas with 1219 assists on the year. The Gauchos hold a 4-0 lead in the series against Pitt.
