Stevens Records NCAA-B Cut Time

PRINCETON, N.J.--Senior Brittany Stevens records the Panthers top finish of the day with a NCAA-B cut time on the second day of competition in the Big Al Princeton Invitational at DeNunzio Pool, as Pitt remains third with 360 points in the 12-team meet.
Earning the top finish of the day for the Panthers, Stevens (Peachtree City, Ga./Starr's Mill) recorded a NCAA provisional time in the 100 fly (55.20), which is Pitt's first of the season.
Earlier in the meet, Stevens was the third leg of the 200 medley relay team that finished sixth when they stopped the clock at 1:47.24. Also swimming for Pitt were sophomore Ryann Kishbaugh (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) and juniors Ruth Seiffert (Boothwyn, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Agnes Mago (Kecskemet, Hungary/Radford).
Later in the meet Kishbaugh would place sixth in the 100 back, while Mago would touch the wall at 1:52.42 for an 11th-place finish in the 200 free. Junior Stacie Safritt (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) also swam in the consolation heat of the 200 free and finished 14th.
Swimming in the finals of the 100 breast, freshman Laura Barnes (Pickering, Ont./Dunbarton Secondary) improved to sixth from the prelims with a time of 1:04.78. In that same event, Seiffert recorded a 15th-place finish.
The 800 free relay team made up of freshman Sarah Looney (Sugar Hill, Ga./North Gwinnett), sophomores Megan Sculley (Sinking Spring, Pa./William and Mary) and Sophie Cross (Thornton, Pa./Glen Mills) and senior Colleen Sullivan (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) recorded an eighth-best time of 7:45.05 on the day.
Sophomore Hanna Bratton (Lincoln, R.I./Moses Brown) and freshman Mallory Mullady (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) placed in the finals of the 1M board, as Bratton finished fifth and Mullady seventh for the Panthers.
Competition concludes in the Big Al Invitational on Sunday at DeNunzio Pool.
