PITT-WASHINGTON POST-GAME NOTES

*Levance Fields scored over 20 points for the third time in his career. Fields finished with 20 points on 7-9 shooting. He also hit both of his 3-point attempts in a season-high 36 minutes of action.

*With his 16 points and 14 rebounds, DeJuan Blair registered his third double figure scoring contest of his career. He tied a career-high with 14 total rebounds and set new career-highs for minutes played (31) and defensive rebounds (11). Blair reached double figure scoring for the sixth time this year and double figure rebounding for the third contest. Blair also finished with a team-high three steals and continues to lead the Panthers in total steals (22).

*With his 14 points, Sam Young reached double figures for the 17^th time in the last 20 games. It was his 37^th career double figure scoring game. Young has also reached double figure scoring in each of Pitt's nine games this year.

*Mike Cook reached double figure scoring for the sixth time in nine games this year. Cook also tied a season-high with six assists in the game.

*Pitt outrebounded Washington 35-34. The Panthers have outrebounded each of their nine opponents on the season.

*Pitt played its second road game of the season. Pitt will play only one home game in December (Oklahoma State on Dec. 15). It has already traveled to Duquesne (Dec. 5) and Washington (Dec. 8). The Panthers will play Duke at Madison Square Garden (Dec. 20) and play at Dayton (Dec. 29). Last year Pitt finished 8-3 in overall road games and 6-2 in Big East road contests.

*In playing at Washington, Pitt played its longest road trip of the season (2,526 miles) three days after traveling to Duquesne (2.7 miles) for its shortest road trip.

*The contest marked Pitt's farthest destination for a road trip since last year's NCAA Regional appearance in San Jose, Calif. Pitt's last appearance in the Pacific Northwest was its NCAA Tournament First Round matchup in Boise, Idaho in 2005. Seattle, Wash. Is 2,526 miles from Pittsburgh.

*Pitt's win snapped Washington's 31-game home win streak over non-conference opponents.

*Pitt improved to 9-0 for the sixth consecutive season since 2001-02.

*Pitt's 9-0 start ranks tied for eighth on Pitt's all-time best season starts list. The school record is a 21-0 record in 1927-28.

*Pitt improves to 2-2 in its all-time series against Washington. The Panthers swept the two-game series and was the return trip following a 65-61 win over the Huskies on Feb. 17, 2007 at the Petersen Events Center. Prior to 2007, Pitt and Washington last met in men's basketball in 1950 when legendary and Hall of Fame coach H.C. "Doc" Carlson took the Panthers on a 15-day, eight-game West Coast competition road trip. Traveling by train, Pitt played at Minnesota, Washington (two games), Oregon State (two games), California, UCLA and Iowa. Pitt dropped both games at Washington.

*Pitt also improved to 9-19 all-time vs. Pac-10 opponents.

*Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon improved to 31-2 in games played in December. He is also 24-0 in games played in November. Combining his November and December records, Dixon owns a 55-2 record in pre-January contests and is now 57-3 vs. non-conference competition. Additionally, Dixon improved to 114-30 all-time as Pitt's head coach.

*Pitt also won the 33^rd of its last 35 games against non-conference opponents.

*Pitt improved to 78-5 in the last seven years against non-conference competition.

*Pitt yielded 75 points to Washington on the evening. The Huskies became the first team to score over 70 points vs. Pitt this season. Since Jamie Dixon became head coach, Pitt has held 119 of its 144 opponents under 70 points. Last year Pitt limited 31 of its 37 opponents under 70 points.
