Cross Country Travels to Lock Haven Invitational This Weekend

The men and women's cross country teams will continue their 2007 odyssey this weekend at the Lock Haven Invitational hosted by Lock Haven University. The invitational will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15^th at the West Branch Cross Country Course.

Both teams are looking to build off of strong season-opening performances at the Duquesne Duals last weekend. The women's squad won the meet and had three runners place in the top five, while the men took second out of seven teams.

Freshmen Anna Yoney (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) and June Farley (Radnor, Pa./Radnor) placed fourth and 10^th, respectively, for the women in their first collegiate race. The men's squad also saw some production from its freshmen as Joshua Christopher (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and Jack Morrow (Tulsa, Okla./Holland Hall) occupied two of the top-three spots for the Panthers, finishing fourth and 13^thoverall.

Pitt's last trip to Lock Haven came last season at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships where the men finished sixth and the women took 17^th.
