Campbell Repeats As Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I.-Senior Kelly Campbell of Pitt's women's volleyball team earned her second consecutive Big East Volleyball Player of the Week honor, after leading the Panthers to its sixth conference win of the season. She is also the first to garner this accolade from the league in back-to-back weeks.
Campbell (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield/Pacific) compiled 45 kills in just eight sets, as Pitt (14-8, 6-1 Big East) won a pair of 3-1 matches over Youngstown State and West Virginia, last week.
In the contest against the Penguins, Campbell had 26 kills in 49 attempts for a .490 hitting percentage. Her season-high 26 kills marked the fourth time, she has recorded 20 or more kills in a match, this year.
She also tallied three aces against the Mountaineers, which is the most for her in conference play this season.
The Panthers lead the conference in wins (6) and is second in opponent hitting percentage (155). As a team, the squad is out-blocking its opponents 210.5-156.5 and averaging 2.37 blocks per set.
Pitt hosts Connecticut (Friday, 7 p.m.) and St. John's (Sunday, 2 p.m.) at Fitzgerald Field House, this week.
