Cross Country Wraps up NCAA Regional Action

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Pittsburgh cross country teams competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships yesterday, with the men finishing in 14th place in the 10k race and the women in 22nd in the 6k race.
The Panther men entered the Regional Championships ranked 14th and defeated 13th ranked Delaware and 15th ranked Marshall on the day.
Sophomore Joshua Christopher paced the men, finishing in 33:17 for 28th place overall. Three other Panther men cracked the top 100 - sophomore Teddy Miller (56th), junior Kyle Kaminski (80th) and freshman Greg Kareis (89th).
The Panther women were led by seniors Ali Briggs and Monica Bhattacharjee. Briggs crossed the tape at 24:06 for 73rd place while Bhattacharjee followed close behind, finishing five seconds later in 76th place.
Up next for Pitt is the ECAC/IC4A Championship Saturday, Nov. 22. The race will be held at Van Cortlandt Park in New York, N.Y. It will be the third race this season for the Panthers at Van Cortlandt Park.
