Panthers Finish Second at ECAC/IC4A Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh cross country team traveled to Van Cortlandt Park for the third time this season, competing in the 100th IC4A/24th ECAC Cross Country Championships, with the men placing second overall in the 28 team race.
The Panthers had two runners finish in the top 10 and five in the top 50 en route to the runner-up finish. Sophomore Joshua Christopher paced the Pitt men on the day, finishing fourth at 25:53, just 22 seconds behind champion Nicholas Decrescen (New Hampshire).
Freshman Greg Kareis finished four seconds after Christopher at 25:57, garnering eighth place overall. Also turning in good performances was sophomore Teddy Miller and juniors Lane King and Kyle Kaminski. Miller finished at 26:40 in 38th place while King and Kaminski crossed the line one second apart at 26:44 and 26:45 for 44th and 46th place respectively.
New Hampshire edged the Panthers for the team title, finishing with 107 points to Pitt's 137. Rutgers, Albany and Army rounded out the top five.
