GAME STORYLINES
Pitt, ranked No. 23 in the AP and coaches polls (and 23rd in BCS ratings), concludes its regular season on the road against Big East foe Connecticut. Already bowl eligible with an 8-3 record, the Panthers look to bolster their postseason resume with a victory at UConn.
The Panthers will try to snap a two-game losing skid against Connecticut. Pitt is also seeking its first victory at the Huskies' Rentschler Field, where it is winless in two prior visits (2004 and 2006).
A victory at Connecticut would give Pitt a nine-win campaign for the first time since 2002, when the Panthers went 9-4, including an Insight Bowl victory over Oregon State.
The game will feature two of the nation's top backs. UConn's Donald Brown leads the country in rushing (148.5 avg.), while Pitt's LeSean McCoy is No. 1 in scoring (10.9 ppg) and eighth in rushing (118.9).
