EL PASO, Texas - The Pitt football team had a day full of activity Monday in El Paso as they took part in workouts and events leading up to the 75th Brut Sun Bowl.
The Panthers began the day with meetings and practice in preparation for Wednesday's matchup with Oregon State. Immediately following the two-hour session, the team boarded buses and headed to Fort Bliss.
The team and staff were treated to a tour and demonstration of military vehicles, obstacle courses and artillery on the base. Players were able to get up close and work with the troops stationed on the base, and were even able to take part in operating a few of the devices.
Following the tour, both Pitt and Oregon State team, staff and guests were invited to a dinner and show on the base including a hypnotist, who succeeded in entertaining the crowd by entrancing a few in attendance.
Pitt will conclude its preparations for Oregon State on Tuesday with its final day of practice. The contest will be broadcast live on CBS at 2 p.m. EST. For more information and multi-media on the Brut Sun Bowl, please visit Bowl Central at www.pittsburghpanthers.com.
