PITTSBURGH--The Pitt track and field teams kicked off their outdoor season this weekend in Miami, Fla., at the Miami Hurricane Invitational. Both teams posted top performers and returned with several top finishers.
Two of those top performers included Ron Walter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) in the men's pole vault and Martina Hallman (Miami, Fla./Miami Southridge) in the women's long jump. Both claimed third place overall; Walter with a height of 4.75 meters and Hallman with a distance of 5.81 meters.
Pitt will be back in action next weekend when they send athletes to both the Stanford Invitational and Raleigh Relays on March 28-29.
