
Hussein Medhat Named Pitt Performer of the Meet

OLEAN, N.Y.--Freshman Hussein Medhat was named the Pitt Performer of the Meet, as the University of Pittsburgh men's swimming and diving team defeated St. Bonaventure, 159-139, this afternoon. The Panthers improved to 1-0 on the year.
Medhat won the 100 and 200 free in his first meet as a Panther, recording times of 47.40 and 1:43.05, respectively.
Medhat also aided Pitt in securing its victory, as he was a member of the first-place 400 free relay team. He was joined by senior Alex Kubicek, junior Andrzej Dubiel and senior Justin Corvin and touched the wall for a collective time of 3:07.53.
Earlier in the meet, Dubiel won the 100 back (52.28) and 200 back (1:56.65) for the Panthers.
Another multi-event winner, junior Zane McLain won both diving events, recording 279.30 points on the 1M board and 260.85 points on the 3M.
Senior Charlie Zettel won the 200 fly (1:54.57), while classmate Geoff Morgan won the 100 fly (52.12).
The Panthers are back in action, next, hosting Louisville on Friday, Nov. 7, at 4 p.m.
