Panthers Place Eighth at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J.—The University of Pittsburgh men’s and women’s cross country teams each placed eighth at the Princeton Invitational, this past weekend.
Pitt’s men recorded an average time of 26:21.58, as all seven members of the squad combined for a time of 2:11:47.90.
The squad was led by junior Teddy Miller, placing 29th overall. Also finishing in the top 40 and in the 25th minute, sophomore Greg Kareis crossed in 38th-place.
Junior Joshua Christopher was the third Panther to finish, claiming 62nd-place, while freshman Vinnie DePalma was the next Pitt athlete at placed 81st overall.
On the women’s side, freshman Myia Johnson was the first to cross the finish line for Pitt. Her time of 24:39.40 placed 31st overall.
Next, sophomore Rachel Hess, junior Heather Calisto and freshman Alyssa Kunkel finished within five seconds of one another, in the 25th minute.
The Panthers recorded an overall time of 2:09:15.80, averaging 25:51.16.
Pitt will rest for a week and return to action on Saturday, Oct. 31, competing in the Big East Championships, hosted by Marquette.
