Women's Cross Country Set For CMU Invite

PITTSBURGH—Pitt’s women’s cross country team will get to compete in front of a home crowd this weekend, as they run in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10. The race will be held in Schenley Park at 11:30 a.m.
The Panthers have been led by freshman Myia Johnson (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape), who recorded finished with a time of 23 minutes flat in the Paul Short Invitational, last weekend. Her season best was 18:49.50 at the Cappy Anderson Invitational, last month.
Additionally, freshman Alyssa Kunkel (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) has turned in a 20:15.98 performance this season.
Pitt’s men’s team will rest after competing in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh, last weekend. The squad was led by Josh Christopher (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) who finished the course with a time of 24:55.
