Women's Volleyball Travels For Two Matches

PITTSBURGH--Coming off a conference, road victory, Pitt's women's volleyball team will travel for two more matches this weekend. First, the Panthers face Georgetown on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at the McDonough Arena, before meeting USF on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m.
The Panthers (11-7, 3-1 Big East) have been led by senior Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) with a .308 hitting clip on the season. She also has a team-leading 93 blocks, including 20 solo stuffs. In Pitt's last contest, she recorded 22 kills and five blocks.
Additionally, sophomore Allyson Hodnik (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) recorded a career-high 67 assists against Louisville and has collected 740 on the season.
The Hoyas (11-9, 1-3 BE) are coming off of a 3-0 loss to Big East opponent Connecticut. Vanessa Dorismond led the squad with 11 kills in the match.
Trying to rebound from a 3-2 loss at the hands of Connecticut, the Bulls (9-4, 2-1 BE) are led by Marcela Gurgel with 174 kills on the year. In the UConn contest, she recorded 18 kills. USF hosts West Virginia Friday night.
Pitt leads the Georgetown series 35-8, and is 3-1 over USF. Both matches will be available via gametracker.
