Swimming and Diving Host Two Meets At Trees Pool

PITTSBURGH—Pitt’s swimming and diving team hosts two Big East meets at Trees Pool, this weekend. First, Louisville visits on Friday, Nov. 6, at 4 p.m., while the Panthers face Cincinnati at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Pitt opened its season on Oct. 17 with victories over St. Bonaventure. The women recorded a convincing 254-44 win, while the men squeaked out a 159-139 finish. Freshmen Elizabeth Tabor and Hussein Medhat earned Pitt’s Performer of the Meet titles against the Bonnies. Tabor won the 1,000 free, while Medhat placed first in the 100 and 200 free, in individual events.
Additionally, freshman Joanna Budzis won the 200 free and 200 IM, while senior Ryann Kishbaugh was victorious in the 100 back and 200 back. On the men’s side, junior Andrzej Dubiel was another multi-event winner, touching first in the 100 and 200 back for the Panthers.
On the boards, senior Margo Ekstrom won both diving events for the women, and junior Zane McLain swept both for the men.
The Cardinal women enter the weekend following a victory over Tennessee, while their men suffered a loss to the Vols. The Bearcats face West Virginia Friday night, but are coming off season-opening wins over Xavier.
