Women's Volleyball Faces Villanova on Sunday

PITTSBURGH-Following a set of road victories, Pitt’s women’s volleyball team hosts Villanova on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m., at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Panthers earned shutout wins over St. John’s (3-0) and Connecticut (3-0), this past weekend. The victory over the Huskies marked their fourth consecutive shutout and 11th of the season. On the year, seven of Pitt’s nine conference wins have been shutouts, while the other two were five-set matches.
In NCAA rankings, Pitt is No. 8 with a 2.82 blocks per set average. Individually, senior Meagan Dooley is sixth overall in blocks per set (1.48), No. 17 in points per set (5.02) and No. 19 in hitting percentage (.384).
As a whole, Pitt is 34th in kills per set (13.87) and 36th in team hitting percentage (.250).
The squad is also No. 35 in team assists (1,157), while sophomore Allyson Hodnik is listed as No. 20 in the NCAA rankings for assists (993).
The Wildcats are coming off a 3-1 loss to Georgetown, but face West Virginia Friday night. Gametracker will be available at www.pittsburghpanthers.com.
