No. 25 Pitt Wrestling To Host Dual Meet Saturday

Pitt vs. Rutgers and Penn State notes
The 25th-ranked Pitt wrestling team will host its first dual matches of the season as they take on Rutgers on Saturday at 5 p.m., followed by a dual with in-state rival and 14th-ranked Penn State at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Panthers enter the weekend with a 5-1 dual match record on the year with their lone loss coming on the road to No. 17 –ranked Lehigh.
Rutgers enters the weekend with a 5-3 dual match record, while Penn State sits at 4-1 on the year, winning their last four. The Panthers lead the all-time series with Rutgers, 2-0-1, while the Nittany Lions hold the 46-11-2 advantage over Pitt.
Pitt’s Tyler Nauman (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) is ranked as high as 10th in the latest rankings at 141, holding a 16-1 record on the year. In addition, Nauman holds an undefeated dual record at 6-0. Also having an outstanding year for the Panthers is junior Ryan Tomei (Irwin, Pa./Penn Trafford), who holds a 14-2 overall record and a No. 8 ranking by Amateur Wrestling News.
