PITTSBURGH—Saturday’s Big East championship showdown between Pitt and Cincinnati at Heinz Field is officially sold out.
It is the second consecutive sellout at Heinz for the Panthers, who drew 65,374 for their last home contest, a 27-22 win over Notre Dame Nov. 14.
The Pitt Athletic Department is selling an additional 1,000 standing-room seats for Pitt students. The tickets cost $5 and a valid Pitt student I.D. must be shown before purchase at the Petersen Events Center ticket office.
The Panthers (9-2, 5-1 Big East) are ranked as high as No. 14 this week heading into their regular-season finale against Cincinnati (11-0, 6-0), ranked No. 5 nationally. The winner of Saturday’s contest will earn the Big East’s BCS bowl berth.
The game will kick off at noon and be nationally televised by ABC (WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh).
