Women's Swimming and Diving Named CSCAA Academic All-Americans

CHICAGO, Ill.--Senior Sabrina Jennings and junior Collin Forner were each named 2009 CSCAA Scholar Honorable Mention All-Americans, as announced by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) last week. Additionally, Pitt women's swimming and diving squad earned the team distinction of Academic All-Americans for the 2008-09 season.
Jennings recorded a 3.8 GPA in psychology during the spring semester, while Forner boasted a 3.6 in mechanical engineer at the same time.
Overall, the women's team earned a cumulative team GPA of 3.14. Among Division I schools, Rice led the way with a 3.62, followed by Cincinnati with a 3.57. Pitt was one of 10 Big East women's schools that earned the distinction.
There were 347 teams representing 238 colleges and universities that earned the award based on a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
