PITTSBURGH -
The Pitt baseball team returned to campus this week for the start of the fall semester. In addition to preparing for classes, Pitt players will also ready for their on-field preparation.
While Pitt baseball’s freshmen and junior college transfers are experiencing all that Pitt has to offer around every corner, the veterans will return to find many new and exciting things as well. The Panthers will be issued their new Nike gear upon arrival.
In addition, Pitt players will be able to track the construction progress of their new baseball stadium every day, while on their way to their current home, Trees Field. The fall season for Pitt will begin on Sept. 14 for the team and continue through Oct. 12 with the conclusion of their Fall World series.
Both athletically and academically, incoming Pitt players soon realize they will have the best of both worlds. On the field, Pitt has committed to becoming a top athletic department from top to bottom. While enjoying some of the best football and basketball facilities in the country, Pitt’s new Olympic Sports Complex will host soccer, baseball and softball with the addition of a track to come shortly after.
Pitt’s baseball players receive a top-tiered education as well. In the classroom, the University of Pittsburgh is considered one of the premier public institutions in the country, ranking in the top 10. In addition, Pitt is the No. 5 American research university and ranks 37th in Newsweek’s Top-100 Global Universities list.
