Mills and Jones Improve in the Finals

NEW YORK, N.Y.—Junior Da’Lynn Mills and sophomore Cambrya Jones improve in the finals, as Pitt’s women’s track and field team finished 12th with 23 points in the 2010 Indoor Big East Championships, held at the New Balance Track and Field Center.
Moving up in the finals and running faster than their prelim times, Mills and Jones turned in fourth and fifth-place performances in the finals of the 200M dash. Mills crossed the finish line at 24.13, while Jones clocked in at 24.14.
Earlier in the day, Mills recorded a sixth-place finish in the 60M dash (7.62). Trailing slightly, Jones turned in an eighth-place performance in the finals of the same event.
Placing in the top 10 of the triple jump, junior Wumni Fapohunda leaped out to a distance of 11.56M.
Pitt’s final top-10 finish of the day included an ECAC finish from the 4x400 relay team, that placed 10th with a time of 3:49.49. The squad was made up of senior Kaetlyn Brown, freshman Jonnique Lawrence, senior Brianna Broyles and freshman Rachael McIntosh.
