Jones Records Three ECAC Standards

TEMPE, Ariz.—Sophomore Cambrya Jones recorded three ECAC qualifying performances, while several others met Big East standards, as the University of Pittsburgh women’s track and field team competed in the Arizona State Sun Angel Track Classic, held at Sun Angel Stadium.
Jones recorded a top-10 finish in the 100M dash at 12.05 and posted a 24.27 in the 200M dash. She later ran the second leg of the 4x100M relay that placed fifth overall.
Jones was joined by freshmen Ashley Woodford and Jonnique Lawrence and senior Brianna Broyles on the 4x100M relay team. They finished with a combined time of 46.10.
Individually, Lawrence recorded Big East qualifying standards in the 200M dash (24.54) and the 400M dash (56.07). Both were season-bests for her.
Senior Kaetlyn Brown fell under the Big East mark in the 400M dash with a time of 56.46. Trailing Brown in the same event was freshman Arielle Fonrose, who also qualified for the conference meet with a finish of 57.87.
Earning a season-best in the 800M run, sophomore Miya Johnson posted a top-10 performance of 2:13.45 in the event. Her time qualifies for the Big East Championships.
Later, Broyles crossed the 100M hurdle finish line at 14.46, earning a conference qualifying mark.
Then, in the field events, freshman Rachael McIntosh turned in a Big East effort of 1.68 in the high jump and junior Tory Toso recorded a qualifying conference meet height of 3.47 in the pole vault.
The Panthers travel to Baltimore, Md. for the two-day Morgan State Legacy meet on Friday, April 16.
