Mills and Jones Advance to Semifinals in the 200M Dash

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Junior Da’Lynn Mills and sophomore Cambrya Jones advanced to the semifinals of the 200M dash at the NCAA Outdoor East Regionals, held at Irwin Bell Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State.
In the second day of events in the East Regional, Mills and Jones both qualified for the semifinals of the 200M dash. Mills placed fourth in her heat of the event to claim 21st overall at 23.91. Jones trailed slightly with a 23.93 finish for fifth in her heat and 23rd overall.
The semifinals will begin at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday. Mills and Jones will also make up half of the 4x100M relay that competes in the prelims at 6:15 p.m. tomorrow.
On the men’s side, sophomore Jermaine Lowery improved upon his quarterfinal 15th-place finish in the 400M hurdles. He turned in a 51.78 performance to place 14th overall.
Earlier in the day, freshman Tashaun Hill placed 36th in the 110M hurdles with a time of 14.48.
Action wraps up on Saturday in the East Regional. The top 12 placewinners will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
