BRIDGEWATER, Nova Scotia-Pitt women's track and field freshman Rachael McIntosh earned a spot on the Canadian team that will compete in the 2010 World Junior Track and Field championships, scheduled for July 19-25 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
McIntosh qualified for the team after scoring 4,938 points in the heptathlon during the trials in early June.
A 2010 NCAA regional participant, McIntosh earned All-Big East honors in the heptathlon. She was also ranked in the top-25 regional poll during the outdoor season. Prior to that, McIntosh placed third overall in the pentathlon, at the Big East Indoor Championships.

Canada is expected to field a team of approximately 60 athletes. In total, nearly 2,000 athletes from 180 countries will compete in Moncton.
