Swimming and Diving Wraps Up Alumni Weekend

PITTSBURGH-Pitt’s swimming and diving team had an exciting weekend, hosting its first-ever Alumni Swim Meet, at Trees Pool, early on Saturday, Sept. 11. Alumni and current students were able to mingle and share past and present experiences of what it’s like to be a Pitt Panther.
The eventful weekend kicked off with a social gathering at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh on Friday and ended with everyone watching the Pitt vs. New Hampshire football game at Heinz Field on Saturday.
The participants of the meet consisted of 25 letter winners, who spanned over a collective 51 years of collegiate swimming and diving experience (1959 to 2010).
Those who competed included James Blair (2000-01), Eric Becker (2005-08), BJ Conklyn (2005-08), Justin Corvin (2008-10), Kristin Criner (2002-06), Sophie Cross (2006-10), Lou Durbin (1956-59), Alyssa Ferraro (2006-10), Murray Hannan (2009-10), Jennifer Hester (2005), Allie Horvath (2006-10), Gerald Irwin (1959-61), Stephen Jackson (2004-08), Charles Lersch (1984-86), Jared Martin (2004-08), Amy Miteff (2002-06), Geoff Morgan (2006-10), Tom Ribarchak (1963), Richard Rush (1963), Scott Shearer (2004-08), Howard Treser (1961) and Mike Wells (1998-2000).
Other participants included school record holders Ryann Kishbaugh (2006-10), Ryan Redman (2002-04), Jeremy Stultz (2004-08) and NCAA participants Kristin (Brown) Novak (2003-07) and Carolyne Savini (2002-2004).
This meet exemplified the decades of Panther tradition and excellence that have been instilled on the Pitt’s swimming and diving team since its inception.
