Cross Country Set To Open Season Saturday At Duquesne Duals

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh cross country team will begin its 2010 season this Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Duquesne Duals, hosted by Duquesne University. The meet will be held at Schenley Park and start at 9:00 a.m.
This year's race features host Duquesne, Canisius, Carnegie Mellon, Niagara, Pitt, St. Bonaventure, St. Josephs, St. Louis, St. Vincent, Xavier and Youngstown State.
At last year's Duquesne Duals, the Pitt women's team went 5-2 in head-to-head matchups, defeating both Duquesne and St. Bonaventure, 50-15. In a close race, the Panthers edged Wheeling Jesuit 28-27.
Junior Miya Johnson placed 22nd last year with a time of 20:10:00.
On the men's side, then juniors Teddy Miller and Joshua Christopher finished in the top-10. Miller placed fourth overall with a time of 25:48:00 and Christopher placed eighth with a time of 26:11:00. Both will return for this year's event.
