SWIMMING AND DIVING ANNOUNCES PITT PERFORMERS OF THE MEET

PITTSBURGH--University of Pittsburgh Head Swim Coach Chuck Knoles announced Pitt's Performers of the Meet from this past weekend's contests against Buffalo and St. Bonaventure.
Freshman Emily Bolek and junior Brittany DiSanti earned co-honors for the women in the nail-biting 123-120 loss to Buffalo on Friday. During her first collegiate swim meet, Bolek turned in a first-place performance in the 200 fly. DiSanti led the divers with a victory on the 1M board.
On the men's side, sophomore Robert Power, junior Benjamin Solari, freshman Luke Nosbisch, senior Pierre-Antoine Meunier and sophomore Aaron Snyder were named the Pitt Performers of the Meet against the Bulls.
After trailing early in the meet, the Panthers racked up much needed points in the 200 breast with a sweep from Power, Solari, Nosbisch and Meunier. Nosbisch was also second in the 500 free and Power was third in the 200 IM.
Additionally, Snyder won the 1M diving event as the men fell 127-116 in the meet.
In the women's win over the Bonnies (213.5-84.5) on Saturday, junior Joanna Budzis and sophomore Kimberly Ciotti were named the top performers. Budzis set a Reilly pool record in the 200 back at 2:03.44. She collected gold medals in the 100 back, 200 back and as a member of the 200 medley relay.
Ciotti paced Pitt on the boards with a first-place performance in the 1M event and finished second on the 3M board.
Similarly, junior Erik Moore won the 3M board for the men and was third in the 1M event. Moore was honored alongside freshmen Kourosh Ahani and Jon Lierley. Ahani captured first place in the 100 fly, while Lierly won the 200 fly and was second in the 100 fly. The men defeated St. Bonaventure, 201-99.
The Panthers host Notre Dame at Joe. C Trees Pool on Friday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m.
