PITTSBURGH - • Serving as game captains for the evening were DL Myles Caragein and DB Jarred Holley.
• Sophomore DL Aaron Donald made his first career start at defensive end.
• PK Kevin Harper's 52-yard first quarter field goal marks the longest collegiate FG in Heinz Field history, surpassing West Virginia's Pat McAfee's 51-yarder on Nov. 16, 2006. Harper's 52-yarder ties the Heinz Field collegiate and pro record, which Steelers PK Jeff Reed set in 2010 against Atlanta.
• Harper's 52-yarder also marks a career-long for the junior. His three field goals on the evening tied a career-high. He also kicked three field goals against USF earlier this year.
• LB Todd Thomas' second quarter interception with a 39-yard return marks the first INT of his career.
• DL Brandon Lindsey has now recorded four sacks this season. He has 14.0 career sacks.
• Freshman LB LaQuentin Smith recorded his first career sack in the third quarter.
• QB Tino Sunseri rushed for a career-high 64 yards on 16 carries. His previous career-high was 53 yards against Kentucky last season in the BBVA Compass Bowl.
• WR Devin Street finished with a career-high eight receptions, which resulted in 118 yards on the night. The contest marked his second career 100-yard receiving game.
• Sophomore DB K'Waun Williams' fourth quarter interception marked the first of his career.
