Woodford, Jones Place at ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH —The Pitt women's track and field team finished with five top-15 finishes at the ECAC Championships this past weekend in Boston. The team accumulated nine points while finishing tied for 26th overall.
Sophomore Ashley Woodford and junior Cambrya Jones highlighted the Panthers' performance at the meet, finishing third and sixth, respectively, in the 60M dash.
Woodford had the best preliminary mark at 7.54, one-tenth of a second better than last year's winning time in the event.
Continuing her strong performances in the triple jump, freshman Ashley Corum leaped to a 14th place finish in the triple jump.
Senior Anita James rounded out the top-five performances by the Panthers with a 15th place showing in the long jump.
The 2011 indoor track and field NCAA qualifying list will be announced Monday night. The Championships will take place beginning on March 11 in College Station, Texas.
