Women's Track and Field Shines at Mason Invitational

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt women's track and field team recorded 21 top-eight finishes, including five championship times this weekend at the Mason Invitational in Fairfax, Va.
The Panthers relay team of sophomore Ashley Woodford, seniors Da'Lynn Mills and Lanesha Pugh, and junior Cambrya Jones set an all-time best and ECAC qualifying time of 45.12 to win the 4x100M relay.
Woodford also won the 100M dash, recording of sprint of 12.06 seconds.
In the 200M dash, Jones not only won the event but also recorded a season best and ECAC qualifying mark of 23.60.
Freshman Julia Koloski earned a first-place finish in the long jump, leaping to a distance of 5.28m.
In the triple jump, Ashley Corum registered championship leaps with a mark of 12.08m.
Sophomore Elizabeth Kline finished as the runner-up in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.93.
Recording a career best in the 1500M, freshman Susannah Feinstein finished in the top-five with a time of 4:48.12.
The women's team will be back in action this weekend when it sends representatives to the Bison Classic (Lewisburg, Pa.) and the Sea Ray Relays (Knoxville, Tenn.). Both meets begin on Friday, April 15.
