PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team (0-7-4) dropped a 2-0 decision to William and Mary (6-3-1) this evening at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
"We knew this was a good team coming in," said Pitt head coach Joe Luxbacher. "We just didn't show up with our A game today. The effort wasn't bad but it just wasn't the play that we needed."
The Tribe got goals in the 23rd and 51st minutes to earn the 2-0 victory. Dan Lynd once again kept the Panthers in the match by making four saves in the losing effort.
For Pitt, its best offensive chances came in the second half as Julian Dickenson and Chu Chu Onyeukwu each sent shots just wide of target and Chris Davis' shot was saved by the William and Mary keeper.
The Panthers will return to action on Friday, Oct. 18, when they continue ACC action at No. 9 Clemson (8-2-2, 3-2-2 ACC).
