PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh baseball team will welcome the Ontario Blue Jays, an 18-and-under team from Toronto that competes in the Premier Baseball League, to Charles L. Cost Field at the Petersen Sports Complex for a 3:45 matchup on Sunday, October 6.
Admission to the event is free and concessions will be available.
"We are very much looking forward to hosting the Ontario Blue Jays," said Pitt head coach Joe Jordano. "It is a great organization and it will be tremendous to have them on campus."
The Panthers, who will begin their inaugural season in the ACC in 2014, are coming off one of the most successful seasons the school history. In the 2013 campaign, Pitt tallied a program-best 42-17 (18-6 Big East) record that featured eight weekend series sweeps. Additionally, the Panthers were ranked in all five major college baseball polls for the first time in history.
