PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh volleyball team is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 Weekly Coaches Poll which was released Monday afternoon (Oct. 20) by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Panthers received four points in the poll, which ranks the top 25 Division I teams in the nation.
Pitt is off to its best start since 1990 when the Panthers also started 17-2. That year Pitt went 32-6 on the season and a perfect 6-0 in Big East play. The Panthers also went on to win the Big East Volleyball Championship. Pitt is currently 5-1 in ACC play with wins over Boston College, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Georgia Tech and Clemson. Pitt will play host to No. 4 Florida State this Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Field House.
