Corey Baker (Palm Beach Cardinals - Class A Advanced | Florida State League): In two relief appearances last week, Baker went 0-1. He gave up three runs in 0.2 innings against Charlotte. He threw 3.1 innings and suffered the loss at Fort Myers after allowing three runs in the extra inning affair.

Raymond Black (Augusta GreenJackets - Class A | South Atlantic League): Black tossed two scoreless innings in two relief outings over the past week, allowing one hit and two walks compared to five strikeouts. With the two near-perfect innings, Black lowered his ERA to 3.86 from 4.13.

David Chester: (Portland Sea Dogs - Double-A | Eastern League): Chester began a three-game hitting streak at the end of the week, hitting safely in each game of the series against Richmond helping the Sea Dogs to a sweep. Overall in four games last week, Chester batted .214 (3-14) with a solo shot in the series finale.

Luke Curtis (Wisconsin Timber Rattlers - Class A | Midwest League): Curtis made one relief appearance last week, allowing one run and striking out three in a season-high three innings. Curtis has cut his ERA down in every outing since July 11, going from 14.73 to his current 5.17 ERA with the Rattlers.

Adam Dian (AZL Rangers - Rookie | Arizona League): In his second career professional performance, Dian was just as dominant as his first, striking out two in one inning. In two contests, Dian has struck out three in two innings and given up only two hits.

Matt Iannazzo (Bridgeport Bluefish - Independent League): Iannazzo started two games last weeek, taking the loss in one. At Southern Maryland, he lasted 4.2 innings, giving up seven runs and striking out two. Four days later Iannazzo was handed the loss after allowing four runs in 3.2 innings.

Ethan Mildren (Fort Myers Miracle 0 Class A Advanced | Florida State League): Mildren was 0-1 in two starts last week, pitching five innings on both occassions. Against St. Lucie, Mildren struck out two and surrendered six runs, with only four earned. In the next game, Mildren was one-off his seaosn high with five strikeouts and gave up two runs.

John Schultz (Evansville Otters | Independent League): Schultz extended his hit-streak to 10 games, before it came to an end on Saturday. However, with two walks in that game, Schultz has now reached base safely in 12 consecutive contests. Last week Schultz had three multi-hit games and hit .438 (7-16) and walked eight times for an on-base percentage of .625.

Kevan Smith (Birmingham Barons - Double-A | Southern League): Smith continyed his tear at the plate, growing his hitting streak to 13 straight games. During the stretch, Smith had a three-hit game against Jackson last week. In five contests, Smith batted .389. He also drove in two runs in the finale against Jackson to help the Barons win by one.

Elvin Soto (Hillsboro Hops - Class A Short Season | Northwest League): Soto played in three games, but was crucial in Hillsboro's 5-4 victory against Boise. The catcher had two hits, including a ground rule RBI double and scored an insurance run in the eighth inning after stealing second to get into scoring position.
